So, I realized I haven't been around in a while. I haven't slacked though! Quite the opposite!
My roommate bought a Wii Fit. I remember someone asking if they're good for your diet/exercise regime, and I can't remember what I said, but I am going to have to say that the answer is an emphatic YES. Obviously I don't believe it should be the only thing you use, but it's excellent in that it tracks your weight for you using your BMI, which is really nice in seeing where you are and where you need to be. The Yago and Strength training exercises are nice, ad the Balance games are fun. I definitely recommend the Hula Hoop game. If you're doing it right, you'll be out of breath after the 3 minutes. My roomies and I have a friendly competition going with it. That competition is nice in the fact that it makes us want to exercise.
Since I've been gone I've also incorporated the 10 Minute Solution: Dance Off Fat Fast video into my routine:
I really like this workout video - slightly because the instructor isn't overly annoying, but mainly because I like the way the workout is set up. It is divided into 5 segments, each with it's own (very short) warm up and cool down. As I'm sure you've guessed the segments are 10 miutes each, so they total to 50 minutes. I've been picking 3 at a time whenever I do the video (totaling 30 minutes of dancing). The dance moves are relatively easy to follow (I got a bit confused my first time through), but they pack a punch. Generally I'm sweating when I'm done. As I noted before though, there isn't much of a warm up or cool down, so I suggest stretching on your own before and after. I got this at Walmart for about $13.50. This brand makes other videos with the same 10-minute design, such as "Hot Body Boot Camp" "Tone Trouble Zones" "Slim and Sculpt Pilates" and a buch of other options.
As for my eating, I've been trying to cut back on the sugar and snacking. I've also been trying to limit myself to one plate at the dining hall (my college has our dining service set up buffet-style).
I've lost 2 lbs sice last Thursday. =D I want to be down at least another two by next Thursday.
